it was a stormy day the day i went hiking alongside the 'walchensee'. you could barely see the road before your feet and just guess the hight of the mountains towering up right behind the shore.

when the world stops for snow what could there be more comforting than sitting inside, drinking hot tea and training your crafting skills.

my latest trip to the botanical gardens of munich in the midst of heavy snowfalls can be accounted as some sort of escape from months of wearing pullovers and thick winter jackets, of being housebound most of the time, of grey skies and the overall lack of colours. it was well worth spending an afternoon in a greenhouse while the outside world was covered with white snow. i didn't get tired of looking at those luscious plants everywhere around me.

walks along the isar, visits at the 'alte pinakothek' as well as the 'neue pinakothek' and lots of tea and healthy food - that's what my weekend was made of.
