schliersee II






it was a sunny sunday that i walked along the shore of schliersee and sat down on a bench beneath some old men. they were silent, just watched the restless water and the sun sparkling all over. they seemed so very much at ease with themselves and everything around them like they knew a secret we don't know yet.

for some silly reason a weird and old fashioned german song always appears on my mind as soon as the sky above my head seems nearer than the soil below my feet. it goes something like this:  

over the clouds all your fears and all your sorrows remain unseen, and then whatever seems big and important to us becomes vain and small. 

a good thought for a weird and old fashioned song, i reckon.

second walking tour through franconian switzerland this year! quite exhausting but with nice views and a castle overlooking a landscape that is on the verge of turning its colours into shades of green.
